Just over 4 weeks ago, Earl was diagnosed with a severe case of strep B and pneumonia which collapsed both lungs and sent him into septic shock after only THREE days of being sick. What started as an illness quickly became critical. He was rushed by ambulance to Providence where he was put in the ICU on a ventilator and then on an ECMO machine to help keep him alive as his body battled to recover.
This has turned life upside down for his family - he spent 24 days in the ICU, spending 7 of those days on a ventilator and 15 days on ECMO.
Earl has lost his job during this time, and his wife, Victoria, is doing everything she can to hold things together. Victoria has her own health challenges, and right now, her full focus has to be on caring for their three children, home, pets and supporting Earl through this fight. Because of this, she is unable to work.
To make things even more difficult, the family does not have a reliable vehicle, making it harder to travel back and forth to the hospital and manage daily needs.
They are facing overwhelming financial pressure from medical bills, basic living expenses, food, and transportation; all while walking through one of the hardest seasons of their lives.
We are asking for support to help ease this burden so Victoria can focus on her family and Earl can focus on healing. He has a long road of recovery ahead in the months to come.
We are believing in God’s strength, comfort, and healing during this time, and we are trusting that He will make a way even in the midst of uncertainty.
Every donation, share, and prayer means more than words can express.
If you are unable to give, please consider sharing this fundraiser to help reach others who may be able to help.
Thank you for standing with this family, covering them in prayer, and showing love during such a critical time.
Earl has became the first patient to walk out of Providence Hospital after being on an ECMO machine.
