Support the Dream of Driving with Cerebral Palsy

Hi Everyone! If you don’t know me personally, or my journey…just a little about me, I was born with a neurological disorder called cerebral palsy. CP affects people in a variety of different ways; for me it affects my balance and coordination, muscle tone and fine motor skills. As a result I use a walker and wheelchair for mobility assistance. Despite the limitations that I may have and obstacles that I face, through faith, resilience and a great support system, I have always managed to overcome. Breaking through any barrier that stands in the way. I have set and accomplished many goals in life and after a long awaited journey, I am finally beginning the process of accomplishing one of my biggest goals and dreams…that it being able to drive! Due to cp, I am unable to drive the traditional way (with my feet), so I have to drive using my hands. I am training, learning to use hand controls and will need to purchase a wheelchair accessible vehicle. Because of the modifications that go into these types of vehicles, the cost is not the price of your average car.
