Imagine waking up to the smell of smoke. And within hours, your house is burned beyond repair, nearly everything you own destroyed.
That's what happened to the Dixon family on Tanager Lane. On Saturday morning, Feb. 21, a fire started in the garage and quickly spread throughout the home.
Thankfully, John and Elizabeth escaped without injury but with only the clothes on their backs. Their two puppies didn't survive. Their two-story home: likely a total loss.
As you can imagine, the Dixons are struggling with shock and grief and what to do next. It's winter, and they literally have nothing left.
That's where you, fellow Eagle Nest residents, can step up to help during this terrible time. The Eagle Nest Board encourages all residents to donate to our special GoFundMe page to help the family with immediate needs. Share this link and spread the word to your neighbors, friends, churches and other networks.
Please, give whatever you can; no donation is too small. Questions? Contact Board President Scott Thien. Thank you for your consideration and support.
