Diane was an avid supporter of the Monacan High School Marching Chiefs. Every year from 2011 to 2023, she donated her time and her camera (!) to create an individualized photo album for each graduating senior commemorating their time as a Marching Chief. After being diagnosed with ALS in June, 2024, she was determined to spend as much time as she could watching the Chiefs perform their half-time show. After she passed away in November, 2024, Diane's family and the Monacan Band Director established a scholarship fund in her memory. Every year, one graduating Marching Chief will receive a $1,000 scholarship to attend the college of their choice.
