Hello,
Voices from the Dawn has been a labor-of-love project since the first summer of fieldwork in Ireland in 1978. Forty-six years and a dozen trips to Ireland later, the website pages feature nearly 100 monuments, with another 40 pages in various stages of completion. Now, we have completed another expedition (summer 2024) to create additional media, using newer imaging technologies, to continue documenting the country’s ancient monuments and their folklore.
I retired from university teaching duties in 2020 after an academic career of 43 years. During that period university or state grants provided the funding that supported the summer fieldwork in Ireland, most recently in 2018. The award-winning website and its social media pages have had millions of views and have proved useful to students of archaeology and folklore, as well as to visitors to Ireland. You can read more about the timeline of Voices from the Dawn here.
Now, without such funding sources, I am starting this gofundme campaign to enable others to assist in the further development of Voices from the Dawn.
All funds received will be used to defray the expenses of fieldwork in Ireland for Voices from the Dawn.
Thank you very much for your help!
