My heart is heavy writing this. I still cannot believe that she is really gone. On June 18th, 2018, Diana DeStasio left this world and her soul was welcomed into the peaceful gates of heaven. She touched the lives of many and her smile always lit up the room. A selfless, determined person that we all should strive to emulate. I would give anything to see her again.
The love she had for her family was endless and obvious. Her beautiful parents, Paul and Marie DeStasio, raised Diana among her five siblings- Paul, Anthony, James, Christina and Vinny. Diana also shared her love with her six nieces and nephews to whom she cared for so much. This family has experienced extreme loss in the last few months, first with Diana’s dear grandmother followed by her loving grandfather, and now precious Diana herself. The feeling is unimaginable.
The sudden loss of Diana leaves us breathless. She was a fighter. She fought through battles none of us can imagine going through. She lost people close to her and gained new friends along the way. She was a hard worker and strived to be a very successful Realtor at Exit Realty All Pro in Bayshore. She put her all into everything and took on many responsibilities along the way. Her drive encouraged her to achieve all that she could and was shown by her recent development of a Long Island Chapter for the National Association of Gay & Lesbian Real Estate Professionals, and becoming an advocate herself for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. All she wanted to do was to help people and bring more light into their life. She never wanted anyone to feel alone.
As you can imagine, my goal is to help her family by easing some of the financial means. They have been through so much that I cannot bear to think the emotions behind this tragic event.
If you could please donate to them or at least spread the word, that would mean the world.
