Support the Davis Family through Kara’s Treatment

Many of you know and love Kara and Matty D as the hardest-working duo in the Northern VA music scene. Some of you may also know that Kara has been diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. She has been in the hospital for the past several weeks, where a fabulous Palliative Care team has been working with her oncologist to alleviate pain so that her treatment plan can move forward.

A large part of their income is generated through gigging both solo and as a duo, and unfortunately PTO doesn’t exist for most working musicians. Matty is honoring the gigs on the books, but for the time being he is handling the load on his own. With their talented daughter Ky heading off to college in the fall, it’s important for them to spend time together as a family without worrying about the loss of income and rapidly accumulating out-of-pocket medical expenses.

Kara may be wildly talented, but more importantly, she is one of the most beautiful people we know, inside and out. She brings so much joy to everyone who knows her. The road to recovery will be intense, and so many people have asked about ways they can help.
