Support The Dance Performance ''To Hold My Love''

Donation protected
We need your support to provide an exclusive opportunity for five female and non-binary dancers to perform in a contemporary dance piece this May!

My name is Elettra Giunta, and I am the director and choreographer of To Hold My Love. Together with the five dancers, we have been working since February 2022 to develop and create this show. This is a passion project and we have not received any funding to support the creation or cover our expenses; we have all invested our time and energy because we believe in art and the importance of womxn representation on stage!

Coming soon! To Hold My Love is premiering in May 2022 through Resolution Festival 2022 at The Place in London.

About To Hold My Love
To Hold My Love is a contemporary dance production featuring five female and non-binary performers, choreographed by an international artist. The piece will premiere at The Place, a dance organisation and venue in London, on the 30th of May 2022 as part of the Resolution Festival 2022.

This production unravels the journeys of five womxn, exploring moments of vulnerability and delicacy, all whilst searching for empowerment and strength. Physically demanding, occasionally sad, yet delicate and bold. To Hold My Love pulls you gently into the performers’ world while delivering a powerful insight into their reality. Set to an immersive soundscape by artist Saber Rider, this soundtrack accompanies and provides sound to their sensations and impulses.

The intensity through which womxn are able to move through emotions is astounding.
Exhausting
Inspiring
All encompassing
Beautiful
And mind blowing.
It’s kind of funny actually

Who is involved?
To Hold My Love is an all-female and non-binary production comprised of five international womxn from Italy, Greece, The USA, Ivory Coast, Angola and Germany. Each dancer moved to London to continue their studies or work as professional dance artists and makers. We are very thankful for the collaboration with Saber Rider as a sound artist, Stacey Nurse as the lightning designer and Tina Wetshi as the costume designer.

About me
My name is Elettra Giunta and I am the choreographer and director of To Hold My Love. I have graduated with a BA Hons in Dance Studies from Roehampton University, and I am currently studying an MA in Arts Administration and Cultural Policy at Goldsmiths University. I have always been involved in the arts and I am currently working as a freelance dancer, choreographer, teacher and production assistant. Over the past five years in the art sector, I had the opportunity to work with various organisations, including the V&A Museum, Whitechapel Gallery, The Drawing Room Gallery, Onassis Stegi (Greece), and the Ancient Greek of Taormina (Italy).

How is your support going to help us?
We are excited and grateful for the wonderful opportunity to showcase our work at The Place as part of the Resolution Festival. As you can imagine, all productions of this scale incur costs! We are looking for financial support to cover the travelling expenses necessary for creating this show. We are all working for free and your donations will contribute to covering the artists’ commutes to rehearsals and travelling expenses to London.
Moreover, your help will directly contribute to supporting female and non-binary emerging artists to create and produce work! Since there is not much time left till the day of the show (30th of May), any donations will be very appreciated!

Your support and donations will contribute to the following expenses:
  • Support of the performers involved: covering the travelling expenses of performers commuting to rehearsals (£5 x day for five dancers for circa 30 days of rehearsals)

  • Supporting the sound artist: covering the travelling expenses from Greece to the UK for the performance night (flight ticket)

  • Supporting the fashion stylist: covering the travelling expenses to rehearsals (£5 x day for circa four days)

  • Supporting the lighting designer: covering the travelling expenses to rehearsals (5£ x day for circa five days)

  • Supporting the choreographer: covering the travelling expenses commuting to rehearsals with the performers (£5 x day for circa 35 days of rehearsals)

  • Rehearsal studio cost: the hiring of studios for the development of the piece (£20 per hour studio renting)

We have been so fortunate to have received in-kind support from a few organisations in London already, which are supporting the project and have offered us in-kind studio spaces: Goldsmiths University London, Siobhan Davies Studios and FreeSpace by Studio Wayne McGregor

Rewards:
For every donation of £50 or more, we will reserve you a free ticket to come and see the show on the 30th of May at The Place!
