The Massachusetts Daily Collegian hockey beat writers are looking to fundraise to assist them with the cost of traveling to cover UMass Men’s Hockey in the NCAA tournament. The funds would go towards their airfare, hotel, and ground transportation for the entirety of the tournament. The hockey beat has paid out of pocket for their travel for a majority of hockey coverage throughout the year. At this time, the possible travel locations could be Fargo, North Dakota or Allentown, PA, with the Frozen Four in St. Louis.

Any funds not used would be donated back to the Daily Collegian to pay for travel of other beats who cover sports. The Daily Collegian is an independently funded, student-operated newspaper of UMass Amherst. It is a non-profit funded through advertising revenue and receive no funding from the university or from student fees.
