My name is Kristin Bannon, and I am reaching out to ask for support for the Cyr /Lavoie family, who recently experienced a devastating and unexpected loss.
On Friday, December 19th, powerful storms moved through Burrillville, Rhode Island, bringing damaging winds close to hurricane force. These winds caused widespread destruction, including downed trees, power outages, and road closures.
Around 12:00 PM, a very large tree fell directly onto the Cyr/Lavoie family’s home on Pulaski Road, causing severe structural damage. Luckily, no one was hurt, but the damage to the home was significant.
At this time, the home is not livable, and the family is waiting to hear back from their insurance company regarding next steps. In the meantime, Heather Cyr and Brian Lavoie, along with their three young boys and their family pets, have been forced to move between relatives’ homes and hotels as they try to navigate this incredibly difficult situation.
Experiencing something like this is heartbreaking at any time, but especially during the holiday season, when families should be focused on warmth, comfort, and togetherness. Our hope is to ease even a small portion of the stress they are facing during this uncertain time.
The Lavoie/Cyr family are the kind of people who are always there for others—opening their home for sleepovers, welcoming friends as family, supporting their children’s activities and sports, and making sure every child feels included and cared for. They lead with kindness, generosity, and community spirit.
Now it’s our turn to give back and support them as they work through the days ahead.
Any donation, no matter the size, will help provide temporary housing support, daily necessities, and some peace of mind while they wait for answers and begin the road to recovery.
Thank you so much for your kindness, generosity, and support.
Happy Holidays, and thank you for helping us make this season a little brighter for the Lavoie/Cyr family. ❤️
