Support the Cuthberts during Jeremy’s Fight Against Leukemia

From the Cuthberts:
Back in November during some routine bloodwork, Jeremy’s doctor saw that his platelets were low and they wanted to run some tests to determine the cause. He had an abdominal ultrasound and bone marrow biopsy done a few weeks ago that resulted in a rare leukemia diagnosis called hairy cell leukemia (only 1100 new cases a year in the US). Any cancer diagnosis is scary, but thankfully we have heard this is a very slow growing and treatable cancer. And most patients go into remission after treatment. So that is our hope and prayer! The treatment plan is for Jeremy to have intensive chemotherapy for 5 days in a row (starting this upcoming Monday 3/3) then he will wait 28 days after chemo and then do immunotherapy once a week for 8 weeks.
We would love your prayers with us during this process! Especially as Jeremy starts chemo Monday and side effects could vary. We are asking God specifically for complete healing and complete remission for Jeremy! We are also praying that his body will fight infection well as he will be more susceptible to disease these next few weeks. We are praying that God would use this diagnosis, this season, and whatever may come for His ultimate glory, that He may be seen and glorified in and through both of us. We trust God and already see Him at work in all of this in many encouraging ways. “For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.” (2 Corinthians 1:5).
Many of you have asked if there are ways you can tangibly help by providing meals etc. We so appreciate your willingness to help, but with this particular leukemia and treatment plan, Jeremy will be more susceptible to infection so preparing meals is a little tricky. So if you’d like to give towards grocery or our medical expenses that would be the biggest help at this time. Thank you, we love you guys!
