Support The Cubito Family After Unexpected Loss
Donation protected
Hi everyone! My name is Michelle and I am Merissa’s mom. I am creating this for Bri and Merissa in honor of Lennon.
A message from the family:
Hello! If you don’t know us yet, we’re the Cubito family: Bri, Merissa, Lucas (11), and August (1). After a journey through IVF, we welcomed August into our lives in July 2023, and we’ve been overjoyed ever since. We were looking forward to expanding our family again and were expecting another baby girl in March 2025. However, things took an unexpected and heartbreaking turn.
Wednesday, November 13 was a horrific and heartbreaking day for our family. Bri, 21 weeks along in her pregnancy, went in for a check-up with her OB. When the doctor struggled to find the baby's heartbeat with the Doppler, they moved to an ultrasound room, where it was confirmed that their precious daughter had passed away in utero. This came as a complete shock because everything looked normal at their anatomy ultrasound just 5 days prior.
Coincidentally, November 13 was also Merissa’s last day at her job as a social worker. She was leaving to focus on nursing school and to find work that better aligns with her school schedule. As she is in this process of securing a new position, another unexpected blow hit that same morning—their bank account was hacked, resulting in the loss of over $600.
Bri and Merissa were induced the morning of November 15 to deliver their daughter naturally, facing the excruciating pain of leaving the hospital without her. She was born November 16 at 12:10am weighing 9.6 ounces and 9.5 inches long. We never imagined any of this would happen.
The coming weeks will be a difficult time for them both emotionally and financially. Bri will need about four weeks to recover, during which she won’t be able to work. While Merissa has applied to several positions, the hiring process may take time. With this series of tragic events coinciding with a period of job transition, they are facing at least a month without income. Any support—whether financial, or simply through thoughts and prayers—would be deeply appreciated during this challenging time.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any help you can offer.
