Support the Crook's rebuild after Asheville Flooding
Donation protected
We've started this fundraiser on behalf of our brother and his family, Kit, Vanessa, and Sofia Crook. On September 26, the remnants of Hurricane Helene hit Asheville, NC, with heavy rain and flooding, causing devastation to the city and the people who call Asheville home. Roads and houses were washed away, power lines cut, and people who were able to evacuate left their homes with what little they could carry with them.
Kit and his family were able to evacuate to safety just before flooding from the Swannanoa River devastated their home. In the haste, they left with the clothes on their backs, their dog, Zion, and a change of clothes to get them through the next day. After the waters receded, they were able to assess the damage of their home and found that they have lost EVERYTHING they own, including a vehicle that was swept away and not found.
Kit, Vanessa, and Sofia (13 years old) are avid outdoors people. They enjoy mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, kayaking, and being in nature. This is an extremely hardworking family, who has worked for everything they have. With the unknown of what is to come with Asheville, they are not sure when/if they will be able to return to their work or even their community.
We are asking for any help from our communities to help this amazing family get back on their feet after losing so much.
The organizers of this fund, Cody Crook and Alanna Cattaneo, live in Washington State. All proceeds will go to Kit, Vanessa, and Sofia Crook for them to rebuild their lives after losing everything they own.
