Hello there! I’m Adam Wedesky - a New York City based dance artist, choreographer, and somatic movement facilitator. My work centers the body as a site of emotional intelligence, using movement to explore states of tension and ease, resilience and release, and the inner landscapes we navigate every day. I create live performance experiences that blend contemporary dance, somatic practice, and care for the nervous system. My work invites audiences to slow down, feel, and recognize themselves in the room.

Internal Weather is a contemporary dance play that explores anxiety as a physical experience - tracing how it moves in the body from crown to root.

Using movement, breath, and shared presence, the work approaches anxiety not as an abstract idea, but as something lived and felt in the nervous system, musculature, and breath. The piece travels through embodied states of activation, disconnection, regulation, softening, and vitality, offering a somatic lens on what it means to inhabit a body in this moment.

This work focuses on the subtle and not-so-subtle climates we carry - emotionally, physically, and energetically - often without space to acknowledge them. Internal Weather encourages listening inward, decelerating, and treating sensation as information. It asks what becomes possible when we stop pushing through experience and instead tend to what is already present.

The creation of Internal Weather began not as a strategic plan, but as a necessity. I said yes to making this piece because creating embodied, emotionally honest work is how I make sense of the world and how I offer something back to it. As the process unfolds, the reality becomes clearer: bringing this work to life with care, sustainability, and integrity requires more support than I can personally provide.

This fundraiser exists to support the real, tangible needs of creating live performance. Funds raised will go directly toward:

  • fairly compensating the artists involved

  • securing consistent rehearsal space

  • covering production and technical costs

  • ensuring the work can be completed without burnout or compromise

Internal Weather is a collaborative process rooted in care for the people involved, as well as for the audience who will experience it. Asking for support is part of honoring the collective nature of this work.

At its core, this piece centers empathy, embodiment, and emotional truth. It holds space for anxiety without pathologizing it, and for pleasure and relief without forcing resolution. My hope is that Internal Weather offers moments of recognition and grounding — a reminder that what we feel internally is deeply human, and often shared.

Internal Weather will premiere on February 26, 2026, 6:30 & 8:30 at Arts On Site in New York City. You can buy tickets HERE
