My name is Sam Nance, father to my daughter Charisse Nance Schlottman, who passed in June 2024. Charisse devoted her life to helping people and children as a nurse, and she was loved by many. To honor her, our family friends at Burgers Lake donated land at the front of the park at the entrance. On this land will be the new Charisse Schlottman Butterfly Garden. Family and friends have requested to be involved in the building of the garden. The garden will have a koi fish fountain, flowers, and plants that attract butterflies. The estimated cost to build and purchase supplies is around $7,500.00. Burgers Lake owners will pay for electricity and water year-round. Family and friends will maintain the garden. The butterfly garden will honor the life of Charisse and be visited by the public and used for charity fundraising for children in the future. Please contact us for more information.
