Support the Covington Family's Hurricane Helene Recovery
Donation protected
I met Walker and Ashley Covington when I taught middle school with Walker in Denver in 2013-2015. They were and are two of the friendliest and most generous people I've met. We remained great friends even after Walker and Ashley moved back home to North Carolina and started becoming a beautiful family of 5.
They opened the Hendersonville Mountain Juicery shop in July of 2018. Since then, they have been a staple in the community, providing delicious and healthy goods with excellent customer service. You can learn more about the shop on their website or by checking out their Google page .
As a small business, they survived the pandemic but now Hurricane Helene has ruined much of the store. They are closed for the foreseeable future as they weather this storm. It took on over three feet of water, which ruined the walls, furniture, and machines. Plus, the sewage and runoff contaminated all the product in the shop.
Walker and Ashley are now faced with the very large task of getting the shop back to it's original state. They are likely going to move on from the shop in the near future but are responsible for the time, money, and effort needed to have it ready for the landlord. The shop, after the pandemic and hurricane, has become too much (the juice is now not worth the squeeze).
With the funds raised here, Walker and Ashley will repair water damage, fix or replace any machinery affected by the storm, and be able to recoup some of the money lost from contaminated product.
If you've had the pleasure of knowing the Covington family or had the chance to visit the Mountain Juicery shop, would you please consider helping them during this difficult time? Any little bit helps.
