Support the Cooney Family

Hi everyone! My name is Erin Machamer and I created this page to assist my brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Therese Cooney. For those unaware, Therese was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in March 2023. She has spent the past year and a half on a journey that nobody can quite prepare themselves for as a young woman. After 5 months of chemotherapy, radiation, and multiple surgeries, we believed this fight would be a story of the past. Therese's strength during that time was immeasurable.

This past July 2024, Therese was diagnosed with metastatic spread to her brain and spinal fluid. This has left both of Therese and Bill's families devastated, along with their 3 sons, Will, Ryan, and Nick.

This diagnosis leaves Therese unable to work and the main focus is to continue treatment that will prevent further spread and minimize symptoms that present with cancer in the brain and spinal fluid. The purpose of this page is to relieve the worries that every family has not only in daily expenses, but those that come along with a medical diagnosis that nobody is prepared to take on. Therese and Bill are the type of friends that will have the back of anyone. Their boys follow the same path of kindness as they embark in their college and high school years.

My hope is that relieving some financial burden will allow the Cooney family to put their mind and energy where it needs to be, healing and making memories. Thank you in advance for your consideration and please reach out to me with any questions.
