Cowboy Collins Memorial

“Cowboy” Robert Glen Collins Jr of New Braunfels, Tx went home to his Heavenly Father on January 27th 2025 at the age of fifty three after a brave eight month battle with glioblastoma. Cowboy was a devoted husband, father, veteran, and ER nurse whose kindness and unwavering faith touched the lives of so many. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, we ask for donations to support Cowboy’s memorial fund. Jenny recently had to resign from her job to care for him at home, so this will enable time for her to grieve and recover from these last few hard months, and support the family through this difficult time. Your generosity will help honor his memory and the incredible legacy he leaves behind.

Cowboy graduated from East Central High School in 1989 before joining the Air Force Reserves, proudly serving his country as a loadmaster on C-5 aircrafts at Lackland Air Force Base for 13 years. His dedication to service continued in the medical field, earning his RN from Baptist School of Nursing in 2000 and a Bachelor of Nursing from UT Arlington in 2013. Throughout his 24-year career as an ER nurse, he was known for his humor, compassion, and leadership, always putting patients and colleagues first.

Beyond his career, Cowboy had a passion for woodworking, faith, and storytelling— meeting a stranger and always eager to share wisdom and laughter. His greatest joy, however, was his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Jennifer Diane Collins, and their three children: Landon Joseph Collins (Grace), Mary Kathryn “Katie” Southers (Jackson), and Mason Zane Collins, along with his beloved cat, Gus. He also leaves behind his parents, Robert Glen Sr. and Kathy Collins, brother Rowdy Lee Collins (Dorcas Branecky), and a host of cherished nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

The Collins family extends their deepest gratitude to all who have shown love, support, compassion and their prayers. Cowboy was truly one of a kind and will be missed beyond measure.

Thank you for honoring Cowboy with your kindness and support.
