One of our sweet Canes baseball families was in a horrific head-on collision on Sunday near Henly. Caleb, their youngest, had surgery to repair his colon and is being discharged today. The middle sister, Kalli, had surgery to repair her small intestines and is staying for another surgery on her back. The oldest sister sustained no injuries. Scott, the father, broke his wrist and doesn’t require surgery. Kristi, the mother, is being treated in ICU for severe burns. She is currently medically sedated and wrapped like a mummy. They expect her to be under for quite a bit longer.

They were separated at Christmas, in different hospitals, and my heart just breaks for this family.
