I sure do not appreciate owning this eyesore though. No matter where you go, people will know this place. I didn't make the mess, but it is now my problem, so I am in the process of cleaning it up. I have been slowly working on it for the last 9 years. My dad passed away last April, and now there are no more things impeding the process. Well, there is one... money!

The cleanup process is very expensive and very time-consuming. I have been hard at it since early March. Everything is being properly disposed of, and that costs a lot of money and takes a lot of time. Very little is salvageable or sellable. The metal that is on the property pales in comparison to the cost of disposal of all the hazardous materials.

We have unfortunately run into a bunch of hazardous materials that need to be disposed of by professionals. The $45,000 is the anticipated cost of hiring a company to handle the disposal, freight, and processing of those materials. The more money you donate, the faster this project can be completed. More money WILL equate to a faster completion time. I would love for this chapter of my life to close by the end of the year.
