Support the Cleanup Efforts for Richmond Hill, GA

My name is Dylan Tsui, and I grew up in Richmond Hill, GA. Since early August, tropical storm Debby has been causing record floods in Richmond Hill and surrounding areas. At least 6 different neighborhoods experienced horrific flooding, causing hundreds of families to be displaced from their homes. Recently, the water has started to recede after several weeks of flooding.

This weekend, August 23rd-25th, several of my fellow fraternity brothers of Pi Kappa Phi and I will be going down to assist with the cleanup of such places. My mom's house is the one pictured, and several people need assistance with removing furniture, appliances, and other general sanitization steps necessary after such a disaster.

I hope that I can raise a small amount to purchase cleaning supplies and materials such as Shop Vacuum, Pressure Washer (soaps and cleaning agents), Garbage Bags, Disposable Gloves, Cleaning Wipes/Sprays, Brooms, Mops/Bucket.

There are sewage leaks, dead animals, oils, and other toxic contaminants that are inside these people's homes. The longer it sits the more risk of mold growth. There are several people who may not have the means to move/dispose of furniture or properly sanitize their homes. Help us to help them. This means a lot and I appreciate any support. If you have supplies or equipment that could help, reach out to me.

Plan of Action: about 6 to 8 brothers will be driving down to volunteer their weekend, efforts, and vehicles to assist with cleaning up and giving those affected a jumpstart on being able to rebuild. We will also help with removing standing water, debris, and cleaning inside/outside of the homes of those affected.

We will remove anything that needs to go and drop it at the dump, this is not free. After I get the necessary equipment the remaining funds will go toward things like dump expenses, gas expenses, and feeding volunteers. I am looking at alternative options for housing, however worst-case scenario we sleep in motels. If available funds will support these expenses as well.
