Hi, my name is Dusty Lapp. I'm from Halifax, Pennsylvania. I'd like to share a story with you about the Clark Family. It's about my very best friend and her fight for one of the loves of her life. A story of faith, dedication, and perseverance. Dive in with me.
My Best Friend Stephanie has been my Rock through so many difficult situations. She has been my voice of reason, my shoulder to cry on, and an ever present guiding light. She never let's me give up. My hope through this Go Fund Me is that i can be all that for Steph and Matt and most of all my sweet Godson Deklynn.
Steph and Matt are both Army Veterans. Quiet and Strong, they both know how to persevere through the toughest fights. Some of their biggest dreams in life were getting married, buying a home, and raising a family. Having a baby would prove to be one of the hardest dreams to fulfill.
Having a baby would not come easy as natural conception was quickly ruled out and this would lead them to the beginning of their IVF Journey. They experienced many set backs and unfortunately losses of Life, but i can still remember the day in a Giant parking lot when Steph told me she was pregnant again. She said, "Don't get your hopes up, it's only been 6 weeks", but I touched her belly and cried, this just felt different. I started praying every day for "The Bean." A few days later i would take her to the hospital visit where we thought Steph and Matt would endure another loss.
However, the heartbeat was strong and"the Bean"would keep fighting to see his day earth side.
December 10, 2024 at 24 weeks 3 days gestation, Deklynn Foster Clark came into this world fighting. He was 1lb 4oz.
Deklynn is 10 months old and still fighting to get home. He remains at Hershey Medical Center where he has endured a-
Brain bleed, a Heart procedure - PDA closure, an Ileostomy - dis motility, and G tube.
Deklynn is Trach vent dependent due to severe BPD of the lungs, and His biggest fight the last few weeks is going through withdrawal as they try to taper him off pain medication. Friends, I have watched Stephanie and Matt fight this quietly with a faith and strength that astounds me. They have never asked for anything other than prayers for the last 10 months.
They never miss a beat trying to work while taking shifts to make sure Deklynn is never alone, and all the while trying to remain a family through this difficult year.
I've seen their quiet struggles. I know the emotional and monetary strain they are feeling. I want to take away their worries about money, so they can both remain at Deklynn’s side together. I'm praying this will help.
First, i ask for continued prayers.
Second, I'm asking if you would be willing to donate to Deklynn’s care. The monies collected would go towards past medical bills, future medical equipment and supplies, and in home care. All things that will be needed to bring Deklynn home to an environment he can thrive in.
Deklynn is so loved by several wonderful churches and Our own hometown communities already.
You've asked how you can help....
Let this be the way we can help Steph and Matt bring Deklynn home.
