It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Chumba, who died in the early morning hours of March 26, 2026. David’s funeral is scheduled for this coming weekend in his home country of Kenya. Versar Global Solutions has initiated this GoFundMe page to assist the Chumba family and provide for the children’s future education costs. David and Jepchirchir Emily were married for twenty-five years and together they had six children: Bridget Jepkorir, Bethanilah Jeptoo, Bertila Jepkosgei, Brenda Chepleting, Bevalyne Cherono, and Fabian Kipruto. David was a devoted father who deeply valued education and worked tirelessly to secure a better future for his daughters and the family at large. Before his untimely passing, he had already initiated plans to support their academic journey and dreamed of seeing them excel and further their studies, including opportunities abroad.

Bridget Jepkorir is pursuing studies at Uzima University in Kisumu, Kenya, in Community Health Nursing. Bethanilah Jeptoo just completed her certificate as an EMT and is set to start her diploma in Emergency Medicine. Bertila Jepkosgei is currently studying for her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work at Kibabi University in Bungoma, Kenya. Brenda Chepleting and Bevalyne Cherono are both in high school in Eldoret, Kenya, with dreams of joining the U.S. Military Forces and pursuing nursing in the U.S., respectively.
