Support the Chaffin Family After Tragic Loss

My husband's family had the unthinkable happen in June. They unexpectedly lost a husband, father, uncle, brother, and friend. Please read story below written by my Father-in-Law. If you are able to help the Chaffin family we will forever be grateful!

“A brother’s heart for his sister”

My name is Galen. For 7 years of my early childhood, I was an only child. In the

8 th year of my life, I was blessed with a little sister, Elizabeth. Being this far apart in

age meant we grew up loving each other as siblings yet not as involved in each

other’s lives as many siblings closer in age. As adults, we and our families have

celebrated many holidays, birthdays, graduations and summer outings together.

My sister provided me with a wonderful brother-in-law, Greg Chaffin, and

three nieces Tara, Brittani, and Kendall. Liz also pursued the passion of our

mother and has been an amazing school teacher for nearly 20 years. We have all

been blessed with many precious memories together. However, things took a

difficult turn on the morning of June 25 th , 2024, when my sister’s husband Greg,

passed away from a major heart attack.

A few days earlier, Greg played a short round of golf and came home not

feeling well. No one had reason to believe anything serious was occurring, until

Liz heard sounds in the room where Greg was resting. Liz checked on Greg only to

find him unable to fully open his eyes or respond to her. Greg never regained

consciousness and my sweet sister is now juggling business issues, medical bills,

relocating to a new rental home, and preparing for a new school year. All of this

with no life insurance or medical insurance for Greg’s ambulance, and hospital

stay in ICU.

Our family and extended family have done our best to help my sister, yet the

financial burdens continue to mount. I cried many tears seeing the shock and

heartbreak of my sister and nieces. I am simply asking anyone who can relate to

my story to give generously to help my sister, Liz Chaffin. She has many medical

bills that have come and will continue to come, funeral expenses, replacing the

monthly income of Greg, and future costs of my younger niece, Kendall as she

begins to drive and eventually graduate from High School.
