One of our beloved in-home childcare providers here in Bend, Michelle Catanzaro, is facing every parent’s worst nightmare. Her 7-year-old son was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 Burkitt Lymphoma—an aggressive and fast-spreading cancer. It has already traveled extensively through his lymph nodes, and he will be undergoing intensive chemotherapy over the next 4–6 months at a hospital in Portland.
Michelle and her family are pillars in our local community. They own and operate The Zone (a local food truck) and Little Bears Daycare, all while raising their twin 7 yr old sons. Zachary and his twin brother are 1st graders at Bear Creek Elementary.
This devastating diagnosis has not only turned their world upside down emotionally, but it has also brought an overwhelming financial burden.
With ongoing medical bills, weekly travel and lodging expenses between Bend and Portland, and the challenge of maintaining their businesses and caring for their twin son, they need our help now more than ever.
Let’s rally around the Catanzaro family. Whether it’s a donation, sharing their story, or simply sending love and support, every little bit counts during this unimaginable time. Thank you for being part of a community that shows up for each other.
