Support the Butler union as they fight for a fair contract.

My name is Robert Misurelli. I am a registered nurse who worked at Butler Hospital for almost 12 years. The union staff of Butler Hospital are currently on strike due to poor working conditions including low wages and increasing levels of violence due to poor staffing. Butler Hospital is unwilling to come to the negotiating table to provide a fair contract to its employees. They need our support now more than ever as the hospital terminated their health insurance on 5/31/25. And they now posted their jobs on 6/3/25 .

I know first hand what these dedicated staff members face on a daily basis. They take care of one of Rhode Island’s most vulnerable populations including those with severe mental illness, addiction, and individuals with developmental disabilities. This is putting even more strain on an already strained healthcare system in this state.

While Butler continues to rake in profits its union employees can barely pay their living expenses. Please donate any amount if you can. These funds will be disbursed on behalf of myself, the organizer of this GoFundMe, to the 1199 Strike and Defense fund. This will provide financial support to these workers on strike while they continue to fight for fair wages and increased protections against violence as they provide skilled, compassionate care.
