Support the Burke-Herring Family

Hello loved ones, it’s with a heavy heart I write this.

Marissa Burke was struck by a drunk driver on November 13, 2023 while walking home from school. She was life-flighted to Memorial Hermann to be treated.

After following the proper timeline to determine there was nothing further to be done for Marissa, on November 17, 2023 while surrounded by her siblings, parents, and many other loved ones close by, the decision was made to remove Marissa from life support.

Marissa was an intelligent and creative spirit. Her best friend mentioned her unique ability to put a pen to paper and draw anything with ease, and was also learning 3 different languages! Her brother and sisters loved her thoughtfulness and humor, with a heart of gold. Her parents could go on and on about all the wonderful qualities of their daughter, being good at anything and everything she tried., proud to share her accomplishments with everyone they could.

We find comfort knowing she is free of pain, home with the Lord at peace and no longer suffering.

While no words or actions can truly take away the pain of this terrible loss, I hope to help the family with anything that they may face during these times of loss and pain.
