My name is Luka, and this fundraiser is on behalf of my mom and our family of 5.

Currently, my mom is out of work due to disability. She has been on an active, dedicated search for remote jobs, but, it hasn’t been successful so far. She was a MSCD Food Service employee for 12 years, and her career was ended by her declining health.

She is in need of having both hips replaced, with the first being in August 2025. This means she won’t be able to work or drive for several months.

The only two people currently working in the house are me and my dad.

I work 25 hours a week and give 1/3 of my income. I am also facing health struggles and cannot take more hours at work.

My dad works full-time and pays as much as he can to keep us afloat, but it’s not enough on its own.

My two autistic siblings are unemployed and have not been able to find work despite our efforts to help them.

My mom’s only current income has been through selling her jewelry with me when I attend vendor events, but, due to the Florida heat, we have no events until September. We plan to open her an online shop to help supplement this, but, it takes time that we don’t have.

All of this leaves a huge gap in our income vs. our bills.

Our grandmother has stepped in numerous times over the months to cover any missing funds, but, she can’t do it forever. We’re on our own and facing the fact we cannot cover our rent, bills, and food.

We’ve always managed to figure it out on our own. We don’t like asking for help, but, until my mom’s back on her feet, we’re left with no other options

We’re asking for mutual aid from our community to give us some relief, take pressure off our grandma, and avoid homelessness. We appreciate anything anyone can do to help us.
