Our loss
I am creating this fundraiser for my family as we try to face the unimaginable loss of my son, Jacory Brown. On November 9, 2011, Jacory was born in Jamaica to me, Shelly-Ann, and Ainsworth Brown. He was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, and cousin, and a bright, outgoing 14-year-old with a beautiful spirit and big dreams. Tragically, Jacory was struck by an SUV while walking to school in Port St. Lucie, Florida, and our family is now facing a heartbreak no family should ever have to endure. There are no words for the pain, shock, and grief we are living through right now.
Jacory had an effortless social warmth and a natural ability to uplift others. He was outgoing, inclusive, and always met you with a smile. He was truly the life of the party, driven by empathy and fairness, and he always wanted to help others. He loved playing Fortnite with his older brother, Jaelanne, playing tag with his little sister, Journee, and working with his hands. Geography was his favorite subject, and he dreamed of becoming a professional footballer. He had so much life ahead of him and so many dreams still to fulfill. To us, Jacory was our family’s brightest light.
The funds raised will help ease our family’s financial burdens as we navigate the days ahead and focus on Jacory and one another. We are asking for your prayers, kindness, and support during this incredibly difficult time. Every contribution, no matter the amount, makes a difference, and if you are unable to donate, please share this fundraiser with your family, friends, and community. Please surround Shelly-Ann, Ainsworth, Jaelanne, Journee, and our extended family with love, strength, and compassion. Thank you for your generosity, prayers, and support. May God bring our family comfort, strength, and peace during this heartbreaking time.
