Support the British Pedal Car Championship

Pedal Car Racing is a circuit racing sport where teams of up to six drivers race single-seater human powered cars in races of up to twenty-four hours duration.

Pedal car racing draws teams from many different backgrounds including youth organisations, sports clubs and motor sport enthusiasts. The British Championship takes place over seven rounds between late March and early October.

 For the junior teams, there are separate classes for under 18’s, under 16's, under 14's and under 12's as well as the overall competition for which all teams qualify. 
 
All classes race together on the same circuit at the same time.

Like every sport, we have suffered greatly during the last year.  Our running costs for a typical season (about £4500 generally to lay on our races) are not going to drop for 2021, but the levels of entries are expected to be down on what we would normally expect because our different teams will take longer to get back up and running.

The impact of the Coronavirus pandemic has hit our sport like it has many others. This has come at the very time we were already working to replace our 20 season-old lap counting system which also comes with a not-insignificant price tag.

Our sport is run by volunteers and is run on a very modest budget. As such, we are looking to raise £6,000 over the next 12 months and £10,000 over the next 2 years. This will help us secure the future of the sport and enable us to put on the kind of events that people love to do with plenty of track time at great circuits with excellent facilities for both young and old competitors to enjoy safely.
