Support the Brickey Family

Dear Friends,

May the Grace of our Lord be upon you and the Holy Spirit dwell within you. I come to you with a heavy heart today to plea for your help. My sister, Rachel Brickey, has gone to rest with the Lord. She was tragically killed in a car crash early Monday morning, October 19th, 2020 as she was driving to work. She leaves behind 5 children (Kristin, Carter, Kanani, John, and Jeremiah). John and Jeremiah are still school-aged and hope to attend college someday.

She was a hard-working, single mother always trying to make ends meet. She truly did the best she could and knew that her life was a gift. The children very much grieve the loss of their caring and loving mother. Rachel was constantly sacrificing herself and her own well-being for the sake of others. She would give generously with her time, talent and treasure and was an active member of her church leading and volunteering where she could. She loved Our Lord, Jesus Christ, very much and strived to follow His ways. The Bible was the most important book to her and was found on her kitchen table near many notes and journals that she so faithfully used.

We are so grateful for the numerous people that have wanted to help in any way that they can. We don’t know all the needs at this time, but we do know there will be many! We have set up this page as a concrete way to help her children, especially John (age 14) and Jeremiah (age 12). While trying to put all the pieces together, we discovered that Rachel did not have life insurance, which poses an even greater financial need to cover costs and especially for college education for the boys. We appreciate any help, no matter the size. And if you cannot give financially, we know that your prayers are an even greater gift!

John and Jeremiah will now be living with their Aunt and Uncle who have so graciously opened up their home with loving arms for the boys. May they forever be blessed for this generous act of love!

As you can imagine, these boys’ lives have been turned upside down. Nothing can replace what they have lost, but your donation can help provide some small measure of financial security for their future.
