Support The Bouvette Family

My name is Lana Richert (Winterhalt) and I'm writing on behalf of my dear sister, Morgan Bouvette, her husband Brendan Bouvette, and their baby boy arriving April 2022! Morgan and Brendan got married August 23, 2021, and just a week later found out they were pregnant...while on their honeymoon! The news was a welcomed surprise to the couple, their family, and friends.

 

Following their 20 week check up, Morgan and Brendan were informed that their baby has a rare heart condition called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome which basically means the baby's bottom left ventricle is not growing (if you want to read more about it, click here ). This condition requires surgery as soon as our little guy is born, a second surgery 6-9 months later, and a third before he turns 3; these surgeries will help to redirect the flow of blood through the heart, making it possible for the little guy's heart to function optimally with only 3 ventricles.

 

While baby is extremely healthy now (and moving constantly!), things will get much more difficult when he is out of the womb and his body needs to pump and breathe on its own. These life-saving surgeries will be performed in Edmonton, AB, where Brendan, Morgan, and baby will be transported together and kept in the NICU until baby is cleared to go home.

 

We are all so excited for the arrival of this little guy and want to prepare for his arrival as best as possible, which includes providing a cushion of funds for the Bouvette's as they travel, transition home, and adjust to life with their newborn.

 

This fundraiser will be to directly support Brendan as he takes time off work to be with Morgan and the baby, provide food and comfort items while away from home, and act in lieu of a baby shower--with the current COVID-19 conditions the Bouvette's feel it is best to avoid an in-person shower and limit interactions with anyone dropping things off, so donating to this GoFundMe will be the best way to shower them with gifts, love, and support. Please note that any additional funds raised by this fundraiser will go directly into an account for Baby Bouvette to support further medical procedures or needs that arise from his heart condition.

 

While financial support is important, the most important thing we ask you for is your prayers, wishes, thoughts, hopes, and encouragements. Whatever your religion, faith, or beliefs, we ask that you would reserve a space in your heart and thoughts for Brendan, Morgan, and Baby Bouvette--for a smooth, easy delivery in April, for peace for Morgan and Brendan through the stressful times, for the absolute best surgeon and team at the surgeries, for safe travels and accommodations, and ultimately for strength, health, and bravery for Baby B. We want him to come home as soon as possible this spring so we can all snuggle him!!
