The Boulder Quest Center  needs your help!

Without normal operations for nearly 5 months, this local business is in "survival mode".

As a home to the transformative martial art of To-Shin Do, the BQC is more than just a martial arts dojo. It is a community center devoted to supporting each other in expanding perspectives, building new ways of looking at the world, and providing tools such as survival skills, meditation, mind-sciences, and conflict de-escalation.

Right now, the BQC is more important than ever in supporting community members navigating the anxiety, stresses, and isolation of this pandemic. It is an outlet for physical, mental, and spiritual training when most of us are struggling to maintain healthy habits and routines.

I would not be the person I am today without the Boulder Quest Center.

I earned my 1st degree black belt here in 2017, and have been a member of the community for years. I completed my black belt test in a nearby canyon, along a creek in early March where our community gathered to challenge my skills and celebrate my journey. I have been involved with the BQC for over 10 years.

I am not an employee or beneficiary in any way. I am simply advocating for the survival of a local small business heavily impacted by this pandemic.

As you can imagine, training with others in a dojo environment is nearly impossible given the current guidelines for COVID-19. The BQC has adapted to training outside with masks and physical distance (thanks practice weapons!), and has been offering content and classes via Zoom, etc.

However, without normal operations for 5 months, the BQC urgently needs our help.

That is why I am asking you to please donate to support the Boulder Quest Center.

Any funds raised will be used for the BQC's operations costs, and instructor and employee wages.
The owners are not taking any income for themselves during COVID and are focused on the survival of this community.

To-Shin Do is a remarkable martial art, as described by the BQC :

"To-Shin Do is based on ancient warrior martial arts disciplines handed down by nine historical Japanese samurai and ninja family lineages. At the same time it is a modern approach to handling threats and confrontations in our culture today. Our martial arts are about natural intelligence not muscle. They were developed as ways to increase the likelihood of peace, security, and well being not as ways to encourage violence."

Imagine being able to hold your ground like a mountain, flow intelligently like water, connect with a situation and act decisively, easily capture the energy thrown at you, and have the discernment to blend these abilities in real time.

Imagine the confidence this gives you as an advocate for peace and kindness to one another.

This is what the Boulder Quest Center offers, and what its instructors devote their lives to teaching.

I am asking for your help in keeping the doors open. I am asking for your help in keeping this community alive. I am asking for your help in keeping these essential teachings available to the public during troubled times.

Please help this incredible place stay open and continue to help those seeking self-defense, inner calm, and personal growth.

I appreciate anything you can do!
