Support the Blake Family on Tom's Road to Recovery

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-Hearted Strangers,

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support for my dad, Tom. Over the past several weeks, he has been struggling with severe back pain that led to a shocking diagnosis: Osteomyelitis, a bone infection in his back. After an emergency room visit, doctors discovered that the infection had spread to his blood, leading to a life-threatening blood infection as well.

Tom was admitted to the hospital on November 11th, where he began receiving treatment. While his condition is improving, his recovery will be a long and difficult journey. For the next 6-8 weeks, Tom will be semi-bedridden as he works to regain his strength and health. He’ll be receiving home care to monitor his condition, assist with physical therapy, and ensure the infection doesn’t return.

As you can imagine, this has been an incredibly stressful time for our family. Not only is Tom facing a long road to recovery, but his illness has also placed an immense financial strain on us. Tom is the sole provider for our homeschool family—he runs his own business and supports his two teenage children who are homeschooled by his wife, Jen. With his inability to work for the next two months, we will be struggling as a family to manage basic living expenses, medical costs, and the additional costs of in-home care.

That’s where we need your help.

We are aiming to raise $20,000 to cover medical expenses, offset the loss of income, and ensure that Tom receives the care he needs to recover properly. These funds will help cover:

Medical bills and treatments for Tom’s osteomyelitis and blood infection

In-home care expenses, including transportation for doctor’s visits and physical therapy

Financial support for our family during this period of reduced income

Tom is a kind, hardworking man who has always put others before himself.
