Support The Black Butterfly: A Baltimore Documentary

The documentary, "JUST TO LIVE, The Black Butterfly," depicts Baltimore's primarily African American population as the wings of a butterfly. On either side of this prime real estate sits the center of the city. The film highlights the enduring trauma, from past to present. It brings attention to why Baltimore is known more for the “Wire,” an HBO crime drama, versus its rich diversity and heritage. We explore a combination of policies, practices, systems, and budgets which combined are the root cause of most of these crises. This film focuses on Baltimore but we will contrast and compare the macro or micro similarities present in hyper-segregated cities throughout the country.
