Obraćamo Vam se u vezi sa jednim od najvećih sportskih događaja u svijetu za osobe sa poteškoćama u razvoju - Ljetnim olimpijskim igrama Specijalne olimpijade, koje će se održati u Berlinu od 17-25. juna 2023. godine. Ovaj globalni događaj okupit će 7000 sportista iz 195 zemalja, 20 000 volontera i preko 300 000 roditelja, te će predstavljati vrhunac sportske sezone za osobe sa intelektualnim teškoćama.
Olimpijski Tim Specijalne olimpijade Bosne i Hercegovine će također, učestvovati na ovom događaju, sa 25 sportista, 8 trenera, 1 doktorom, 2 člana rukovodstva, 4 predstavnika u zdravstvenom programu, 2 na Kongresu inkluzije i dvoje sudija za inkluzivne sportove. Ovo je jedinstvena prilika da se predstavimo u najboljem svjetlu, pokažemo svoje sportske sposobnosti i uživamo u jednom od najprestižnijih sportskih događaja na svijetu.
Pod pokroviteljstvom saveznog predsjednika Njemačke Frank-Walter Steinmeier-a, ove
Igre će pobijediti barijere za osobe sa intelektualnim invaliditetom. U sklopu Igara uz podršku Svjetske specijalne olimpijade i njemačke vlade organizovati će se i Globalni forum za inkluziju – Partnerstvo za akciju 17. i 18. juna 2023. Ovaj forum će uključiti lidere širom svijeta u jedinstven dijalog fokusiran na implementiranje inkluzivne prakse u školama i zajednicama širom svijeta kroz sport. To će uključivati učešće sportista Specijalne olimpijade, lidera mladih, šefova država, šefova vlada, ministre i druge zvanice, predstavnike međuvladinih organizacija i civilnog društva sa ciljem da se globalni razgovor pomjeri na inkluziju sa politike na akciju tako da inkluzija života postane stvarnost za osobe sa intelektualnim teškoćama.
U Bosni i Hercegovini još uvijek nema razvijene svijesti o uticaju sporta kod osoba sa invaliditetom, pogotovo osoba sa intelektualnim teškoćama. Specijalna Olimpijada u BiH je jedina sportska organizacija na državnom nivou koja organizuje treninge i takmičenja za osobe sa intelektualnim nedostacima na čijim takmičenjima učestvuju Specijalne Škole, Dnevni centri, razna udruženja, Zavodi i sportski klubovi koji rade sa osobama sa intelektulanim teškoćama.
Realizacijom programskih aktivnosti Specijalna olimpijada u BiH radi na animaciji cjelokupne društvene zajednice na socijalizaciji i poboljšanju zdravstvenog stanja ove populacije kao i njihovih familija kroz sportske aktivnosti što podrazumijeva što veće uključivanje osoba sa intelektualnim teškoćama u sportske aktivnosti, pokretanje medijske kampanje kojom ćemo postići podizanje svijesti javnosti i animirati članove porodica, volontere, trenere i prijatelje da budu učesnici takmičenja.
Zbog svega navedenog obraćamo vam se ovim dopisom da podržite kroz sponzorstvo ili donaciju učešće našeg Tima na Ljetnim olimpijskim igrama u Berlinu.
Prema predvidjenom projektu ukupni troškovi iznose 180.000,00 KM, od čega najviše sredstava treba obezbijediti za troškove avionskih karata, nabavku sportske opreme i pripreme državnih reprezentativaca.

The Special Olympics World Games will be held in Berlin from June 17-25, 2023. This global event will bring together 7,000 athletes from 195 countries, 20,000 volunteers and over 300,000 parents, and will be the highlight of the sports season for people with intellectual disabilities.
The Special Olympics team of Bosnia and Herzegovina will also participate in this event, with 25 athletes, 8 coaches, 1 doctor, 2 management members, 4 in the health program representatives, two representatives for the Inclusion Congress and two judges for inclusive sports. This is a unique opportunity to present the team in the best light, show our sporting abilities and enjoy one of the most prestigious sporting events in the world.
Under the support of the President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier, these Games look to overcome barriers for people with intellectual disabilities. As part of the Games, with the support of the World Special Olympics and the German government, the Global Forum for Inclusion - Partnership for Action will be organized on June 17-18, 2023. This forum will engage leaders around the world in a unique dialogue focused on implementing inclusive practices in schools and communities through sports. This will include the participation of Special Olympics athletes, youth leaders, heads of state, heads of government, ministers and other dignitaries, representatives of intergovernmental organizations and civil society with the aim of shifting the global conversation on inclusion from politics to action so that inclusion becomes a reality for people with disabilities and intellectual difficulties.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, there is still no developed awareness of the impact of sports on people with disabilities, especially people with intellectual disabilities. The Special Olympics in Bosnia and Herzegovina is the only sports organization at the state level that organizes training and competitions for people with intellectual disabilities. special schools, day care centers, associations, institutes and sports clubs that work with people with intellectual disabilities participate in the competitions.
Through the implementation of program activities, the Special Olympics in BiH works to animate the entire social community, to socialize and improve the health status of this population as well as their families through sports activities, which implies the greatest possible involvement of people with intellectual disabilities in sports activities, launching a media campaign that will achieve raising public awareness and encourage family members, volunteers, coaches and friends to participate in the competition.

According to the planned budget, the total costs amount to 180,000.00 BAM (~100,000 USD), of that, most funds will be used towards the costs of plane tickets, the purchase of sports equipment and the preparation of national representatives.
