Help the Bevilaqcua Family Through Their Unimaginable Health Battle
Our dear friends, Victor and Christina Bevilaqcua, are facing a heartbreaking and overwhelming health crisis—both at the same time—while trying to hold things together for their 13-year-old daughter, Ava.
Christina was recently diagnosed with two types of breast cancer, has had multiple surgeries, and also has just begun chemotherapy yesterday. She’s doing her best to continue working from home, but it will become increasingly difficult as treatment takes a toll on her energy and health.
As if that weren’t enough, Victor was recently rushed to Rhode Island Hospital after a failed stress test. Doctors discovered that three of his arteries are nearly completely blocked, and a previous stent is no longer working. He is scheduled for quadruple bypass heart surgery tomorrow.
And perhaps most heartbreaking of all: Christina and Victor can’t even be together through this. Due to Christina’s compromised immune system from chemo, she can’t risk the germs and exposure of a hospital visit—leaving them to face these terrifying moments apart.
Both will be out of work for the foreseeable future, with mounting medical bills, everyday expenses, and Christina’s car being currently in the shop again. The financial weight on this family is immense.
Yet through all of this, they remain the same people this town has always known and loved. Victor serves on the Burrillville School Committee. Christina has coached Burrillville Patriots cheerleading and is a longtime dancer at Krylo Studios in Woonsocket. They’ve given their time, hearts, and energy to our community—always the first to step up when someone else is in need.
Now, it’s our turn.
We’re asking for your help to lift some of this financial burden so Victor and Christina can focus on what matters most: recovering and being there for Ava. Your support—whether financial, emotional, or simply by sharing this page—means the world.
As Christina recently shared:
“I’ve never been so scared. I can’t even visit Vic in the hospital—because of chemo. Ava knows what’s going on, but I can’t imagine what she must be thinking. Our poor girl is watching both her parents fight for their lives. I’m overwhelmed. Good and bad. But I know we have a tribe of support, and that will get us through.”
Let’s be that tribe.
Let’s help carry them through this.
