Support The Besson’s After Tragic Loss

On Wednesday, February 5th, an unexpected and horrific tragedy occurred when a vehicle crossed the centerline for an unknown reason and hit Kendra, Trevor, and Remi head-on in Ionia County. Kendra died on impact, Trevor sustained serious injuries, and by the grace of God, Remi managed just a few scratches. To say our hearts are forever shattered and life will never be the same doesn’t even scratch the surface of the devastation that is felt with Kendra’s passing.

Kendra was a loved youngest daughter, a cherished little sister, a devoted wife, a true friend, a dedicated worker, and most importantly, a nurturing, protective, intuitive, and unconditionally loving mother. Her faith in God was the foundation of everything she did. As a devoted Christian, she lived her life with a heart full of love for the Lord, trusting in His plan and finding peace in His guidance. Though she is no longer with us, we take comfort in knowing she is now in the arms of her Heavenly Father, where her spirit is at rest and her love continues to shine.

From the very beginning, she embraced her role as a stepmom to Calvin with an open heart. Though she faced the unique challenges and complexities of blending families, she never let those struggles define her love for him. Instead, she loved him as her own, offering him the care, patience, and support that only a mother could give.

The arrival of her daughter Remi deepened her sense of purpose in a way that was truly special. Remi, who will soon be turning 3, became the light of her life. Watching her grow, laugh, and learn each day filled her with an overwhelming sense of pride and joy. It was clear to anyone who saw them together that Remi was not just her daughter—she was her greatest treasure.

As we all process this heartbreaking loss, we want to ensure that Trevor can focus on grieving and being there for Calvin and Remi during these unimaginable circumstances. His injuries will have him off work for many months to come. In an effort to alleviate some of the financial burden, we’ve set up this donation fund to help cover medical expenses, bills, and other immediate needs. Any support, whether big or small, will make a world of difference, allowing Trevor the time and space to care for his family and honor the memory of the incredible woman we’ve lost.
