Support the Bell Family's Mental Health Journey

Update: We have the best supportive community. I am so encouraged and thankful for all of you! Thank you for not judging my family but instead showing us love ❤️

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind." James 1:2-6

In 2016 I made a little image of verse above, from my Bible App, while clinging to hope during some trials. To this very day, I am still clinging to the same hope and have the same prayer I have prayed since 2016 and even before that time.

While I cannot (and will not) share the details I will share that my family has been facing a tremendous battle with mental health. $200 a month in mental health care, prescriptions, specialized care, and at times, hospital care for years. We’ve met our insurance deductible for the last 8 years. It has bled us dry of our savings, both Aaron and I have worked full-time jobs and have carried part-time jobs to help assist with the expenses and we would do it all again and again. Through it all we have considered ourselves blessed. GOD HAS ALWAYS PROVIDED!!!

Tonight we committed to a new therapy that will cost us $5250 out of pocket and I am scared, tired, and feeling sorry for my family and our situation (I am just having a super weak moment). Honestly, I cannot stop crying this evening. I have done extensive research on this therapy and look forward to seeing results but most importantly I firmly believe that God has led us to this new path. I am not sharing this because I am proud of the struggles we have faced or the extent to which we have gone to help. I am sharing this because I believe God wants me to share. Maybe it's to receive prayer or financial blessing, maybe to show more faith…but whatever the reason, I am doing my best to obey and trust in God’s plan.

I don't want to share, I don't like feeling vulnerable…but here it is. It's incredibly humbling to share struggles but I know with all my heart that we are not alone. To those in similar situations- you are loved and even in the messy silence, God is with you.

Please know we are prepared to take on this new financial stress….bring on the extra jobs, bring on new therapies, new normal, new outcomes, and new questions…we are ready for all of it!

Thank you to all who call the Bell's family and friends and are here to support.
