Support the Becketts: Recovering from House Fire

Hello, Beckett Family here! First and foremost, we want to thank you all for the overwhelming love, support, and prayers during these first days and weeks as we navigate this tragedy. Many of you have asked about a GoFundMe (rather than Venmo), so here we are.

For those who may not know, Matt and I bought our dream home in 2022. However, it was quite the project. With the hard work of family and friends, we managed to clean, sanitize, sand, mud, sand again, Kilz, and paint from top to bottom and move in after 3 months of work.

Our home was custom-built in 2002 by a well-known builder in the Howell area (Sentry Building). We focused on preserving the house's original features, including the builder's personal woodworking. We succeeded! All that remained was finishing the downstairs living room area and bath. We were so close to saying it was finished.

But here we are, with 14 years of building our life together just gone. GONE! Just like that, in a house fire on 2/11/25. We had high hopes of salvaging basic things, but as we're discovering, the smoke damage is extensive. We're currently in a one-bedroom motel room with items we are slowly trying to "salvage" from our home.

For those who may not know Matt and I personally, this is tough. Sitting here, writing to anyone who will read or listen, asking for help. We're putting our kids first (Emma - 8 and Lucas - 5) and want to ensure they are safe, happy, healthy, and back to a "normal routine." We're playing the waiting game now, waiting on adjusters, quotes, and next steps. But guess what? Real life doesn't stop. We're trying to figure out how to start with our current financial responsibilities, bills that need to be paid, all while spending money on gas, food, and replacement materials.

We're not asking for handouts but trying to keep our heads above water while navigating this difficult time. Any support is deeply appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
