At 29 weeks pregnant, Stephanie and baby Ash were emergency airlifted to the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, WA. Stephanie has been experiencing bleeding since the 25 week mark due to the baby's placenta partially detaching (placenta abruption). In addition to that, she has been having premature labor contractions that negatively impact Ash's vitals like heart rate, etc. Stephanie's pregnancy is considered high risk and she is being monitored indefinitely until delivery at UW in the antepartum unit. We are thankful for every single day that she and Ash push through this. The good news is- mama and baby are in such good hands at the University of Washington, which is ranked the top hospital in the state.
Stephanie is a small business owner who works two jobs. This medical emergency was so unexpected and is taking a huge financial toll on the family. Between the loss of Stephanie's income and the time off her husband has taken to be with her (UW is a two hour commute from home) they are unsure how they are going to make ends meet. Once Ash is born, he will be staying in the UW NICU for care until his original due date of November 18th. This means mom and dad will have to continue to take time off to commute to Seattle and be with him.
THIS IS WHERE WE COME IN! I want so much for mama Steph to be able to focus on her and baby's health without the financial stress of paying her basic monthly bills. Every little bit adds up and I am hoping we all can rally around her as a community during such a challenging time.
