Support the Barlow Family in Their Time of Need

I am creating this Go Fund Me in support of my sister and brother-in-law, Ashley and Patrick Barlow. Patrick and Ashley have 3 children ages 17, 11, and 9.

As some of you may know, Patrick has been diagnosed with Stage 5 Kidney Disease along with heart failure. In Aug 2022, Patrick began having some health issues related to diabetes, resulting in some serious wound infections, several eye surgeries, and other complications. As he dealt with these issues, he continued to work hard to support his family. I can honestly say, he is one of the hardest working people I know. Two years later, in March of 2024, as his health continued to deteriorate, his kidney function declined to 16%. He began treatment with a nephrologist, anticipating that he may need a kidney transplant. By August of 2024 his kidney function decreased to 4% and he began dialysis 3 days a week. Thru all of this, he continued to work to support his family. Over the last few months his health has progressively gotten worse. He is currently on home dialysis for 8 hours every night. Patrick is now in desperate need of a kidney and pancreas transplant. After waiting 6 months for his appointment with the Piedmont Transplant Team, they conducted several diagnostic tests and determined that he is currently not eligible to be placed on the transplant list due to the fact that his heart function has dropped to 25-30%.

Through all of this, Patrick had continued to try to work, however he currently has more bad days than good, which is preventing him from being able to work consistently. Ashley has picked up a 2nd job for the evenings and weekends to try and make ends meet, as well.

I am hoping with this fundraiser, that maybe we can help take some of the financial strain off of this incredibly stressful and discouraging situation. Patrick nor Ashley would ever ask for assistance on their own, but sometimes you need your community of family and friends to step in. I humbly ask that if you are able to contribute to this cause, ANY amount would help and would be greatly appreciated. All donations will go directly to the Barlow family to cover mortgage, food, utilities, or any other living expenses that a family of 5 accrues on a daily basis.
