Support the Banks Family

Hello Family and Friends,

On behalf of the Banks Family and friends, we ask that you please lock arms in support of Kenya through this challenging time. A GoFundMe was started 5mos ago in hopes Kenya would have recovered within 6mos as told per medical reports. Please see the link located at the bottom of this page for a complete summary of the past 5 months.

Kenya was diagnosed with stage 4 bladder cancer and lymph node involvement. In early January 2023, Kenya had surgery to remove the tumor and it was reported to be an aggressive cancer. Since the entire tumor could not be removed, he underwent chemotherapy for three months accompanied by additional surgery.

Kenya has completed chemotherapy and surgery to remove all affected lymph nodes, tissue, and organs. He was left with a urostomy/ileal conduit.

The family was looking forward to his recovery, enjoying life, and fulfilling God's purpose.

A few weeks ago, Kenya started developing unbearable back pain. He was admitted to the hospital for pain control and found to have had a blood infection, most likely from surgery. Diagnostic scans and a bone biopsy were also completed. The scans reported concerns regarding lesions noted in the sacrum, right hip bone, and T2 vertebrae.

He is restarting chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiation. A repeat bone biopsy is scheduled for next week as well. Continued prayers for miraculous healing are appreciated.

He requires assistance with even daily activities. His wife has been recently terminated from her employer due to missed work which has added additional stress on the family since Kenya has been unable to work since diagnosis.

We are attempting to fundraise enough to continue his medical insurance thru his wife's former employer's Cobra plan. However, cobra insurance is very expensive and necessary to avoid any interruptions in Kenya's care. We would also like to assist the family with monthly living expenses due to all the new developments.
