Support the Bangs Family in Their Time of Need

The incredible Bangs family has overcome so many obstacles in the past year! Please consider supporting them as they navigate past and future financial challenges.

Cirrus Bangs is only 5 months old and has already proven to be as strong as they come. He was born with 22q11 Deletion Syndrome, meaning that he is privy to many health issues. The most worrisome of these is a congenital heart defect called tetralogy of Fallot, requiring open heart surgery on April 25th in Boston. He will require lifelong cardiology care.

A week after being born, Cirrus was outfitted with his first cast to treat clubfoot, and this has been followed by 4 more casts and a heal tenotomy. He now wears boots and bars on his feet at bed time and will continue to do so until age 4. Cirrus also currently has hearing loss in both ears with hearing aids to come.

In addition, Cirrus also experienced aspiration as a 3-month-old and is currently receiving nutrition through a feeding tube. As a result, Amber has needed to stay home with him to help monitor his intake. His doctors were shocked he had not had any issues with lung infections, as well as impressed about how well he has managed other bodily functions such as breathing.

We are constantly inspired at Amber and Curtis’ resilience as they lead their family through this difficult period of time. They create a safe and loving environment for the children, while wondering how to make ends meet at this critical time. Amber wanted to add, “Cirrus is loved so much by his parents, big sister, kitty, bunny, aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents and we are excited to see what the next chapter of having a repaired heart will bring us!”

Any money donated will be used to assist the Bangs for their temporary lodgings in Boston, pay past due medical bills, and help keep up with regular bills while they focus on keeping their family together.
