My name is Oumou Ballo, and I am 19 years old. I am raising funds for my family after a devastating tragedy.

Yesterday, our family experienced a heartbreaking loss. A fire broke out in my father’s home, destroying everything and taking the life of a 2-year-old child. She was sleeping when the fire started and ran to the bathroom, thinking she would be safe, but sadly, she passed away from smoke inhalation.

Our hearts are completely broken. In an instant, we lost a beautiful, innocent life and the home that meant so much to our family. This pain is even deeper because we are still grieving the loss of our grandfather, who passed away on December 13, 2024. He left everything he had for his children and grandchildren, and now so much of what he worked for has been lost in this fire.

He had 12 children, 23 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren, all of whom are now facing this unimaginable tragedy together.

We are asking for support during this incredibly difficult time. Donations will go toward funeral expenses, temporary housing, clothing, food, and helping our family begin to rebuild after this tragedy.
