On January 8th, our closest friend’s home was in the heart of the Eaton wildfires that swept through Altadena, California. April and her husband Jeff are on a single income and their two boys Logan (14) and Jake (10) are displaced and in need of some kindness and generosity as they get back on their feet. As you can imagine there is a lot of chaos and they will need time for this devastation to settle. Due to the presence of the National Guard and the area still being locked down, they have yet to confirm whether the house is still standing. They know their neighbors on both sides and in front of them have completely lost their homes. Even if they were lucky enough to avoid a complete loss of their house, it is likely badly damaged and uninhabitable for quite some time. They currently have plans in motion for a six-month apartment rental and are staying with friends until they can get in. The family lives on Jeff’s salary, but due to film industry strikes over the last year he’s working on and off which has placed an additional strain on their finances. There’s no telling how long it will take for outside support to come, so we’re reaching out on their behalf to family & our extended community for help.
We’ve set a goal of $14,000 to help address the many aspects of recovery and support the family through this crisis. Every donation, no matter how small, will bless them tremendously, and help to provide some normalcy for their boys during this unimaginable tragedy. If you’re unable to give, consider sharing this post with friends, family, co-workers, and others. If you have any other thoughts on giving, please reach out to me and I can gather other donation items on their behalf.
