Tchaikovsky: A Love Letter is a disobedient, full-length ballet set to the icon's roaring compositions and a final symphony - the Pathétique - a confession Tchaikovsky never dared speak out loud.

In 19th-century Russia, being queer wasn't just taboo - it was fatal. Tchaikovsky lived with a secret that ultimately stole everything from him - his career, his freedom, his life. So he transformed his desires into music that would outlive him no matter what.

Tchaikovsky found what he loved, and it killed him.

WHY THIS STORY, WHY NOW
Because LGBTQ+ artists are still living Tchaikovsky's nightmare. In 70+ countries, loving freely remains punishable by death. Artists worldwide still choose between authenticity and survival, between truth and safety. How many other voices have we lost to fear? How many masterpieces died in silence because their creators couldn't risk being discovered? Tchaikovsky gave everything for his art and the people he loved. His mysterious death in 1893 remains one of history's greatest tragedies— Suicide? Murder? We will never know. But we know this: but his music survives because love always finds a way.

A DISOBEDIENT BALLET
Public arts funding is vanishing. Even though our funding was recently pulled, we refuse to cancel this ballet! We refuse. Our disobedient ballet is a full-length production inspired by Tchaikovsky's hidden desires and true loves. We strip away the sanitized version of history to reveal the raw, queer, messy truth beneath the icon and his masterpieces.

No big institutions. No corporate sponsors. Just us, our art, and you.

100% of proceeds from this campaign go towards paying our dancers and crew.
