Support the Annunziata Family during their Healing Journey
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Cassie. I have been Paige's best friend since childhood and I am setting up this GoFundMe for the Annunziata family. If you know this family at all, you know that they are passionate about God, family, soccer, hiking, camping, and overall being active outdoors. They love their family fiercely and would do anything for the people that they love. I kindly ask that you take a moment to read the story, spread the word, and help donate if you can. Anything helps, and we are so very appreciative of your time, consideration, and assistance.
Paige, JD, and the kids all contracted COVID over the summer. The kids and Paige got better, but JD suffered from lasting symptoms for more than five months. This sparked many questions, and JD ultimately decided to undergo a function test, which covered over 100 different tests in/on his body. The C protein in JD's heart came back elevated. After further testing, which yielded both normal and abnormal results, JD was diagnosed with weakening of his heart and ultimately heart failure. To hear that their 35-year-old husband/father is going to die of heart failure soon was the worst pain imaginable and was utterly devastating for their family.
Sadly, on Saturday, November 16th, JD was rushed to the ER, and after being administered life-saving medication, he was admitted to a step below the ICU. The doctors advised that they believed JD had an NSTEMI heart attack, but they didn’t know why.
The following day, JD was taken for additional testing and found that there were no blockages, his heart was normal size, and his veins and arteries looked good. There were some additional concerns with the results, but overall this was good news. The family and doctors still had so many questions as to what was causing all the irregularities, so the doctors ordered more advanced testing. These tests provided favorable results, and the doctors ruled Saturday’s incident as a cardiac event and NOT a heart attack! By the grace of God, JD went into the hospital with a worse diagnosis than he came out with. They now think that all of his chest pain, discomfort, and possible diagnosis is viral cardiomyopathy due to a severe illness (COVID).
This has and will continue to be a long journey for the Annunziata family, so every donation (no matter the size), prayer, and share will make a tremendous impact. Your support will ease the financial burden they are carrying, which will allow them to focus on finding answers and healing.
