Support the Andersons: Help Mom Heal

Hi everyone, we are the Anderson family, locally from Vermont. A family who loves to ski, with our hardworking Dad employed as assistant head of ski patrol at Stratton Mountain in Southern Vermont. He has worked day in and day out for over thirty years, doing his best with his team of patrollers to keep the mountain safe. If you can't find him at Stratton, likely there is no snow on the ground and he is off somewhere in Vermont putting together some of the best outdoor landscaping and patios you have ever seen. With this, we have two amazing children, William, who is a baseball fanatic, currently attending Elon University in North Carolina as a freshman, and Ava, who is a very talented young ski racer, a junior at Stratton Mountain School. Although, recently life did what it does, taking a turn no one expected. Our beautiful mother and wife, whose smile lights up any room and laughter brightens anyone's day, fell victim to this difficult turn in life.

It all started back in September 2024, when we noticed her basic mobilities starting to decline. It all happened in a blur; next thing we knew, the trips back and forth to Dartmouth Hospital and MassGeneral began. Test results went in and came back, and finally, we had some understanding of what was wrong. It's a grand list of things, but in summary, she was diagnosed with a serious neurological disease. More specifically, it is an array of viruses in her body that are working together to attack her neurological areas. After this diagnosis, it seemed like we were begging for help, which led us to find a clinic in Miami, Florida, which specializes in this field of diseases. Hesitant at first, we took the chance.

This chance we took is now our last definite hope to help bring our Mom back to better health. She has been living down in Florida since the end of January now, back and forth from Miami for treatments. We have been blessed with the help of so many people close to us, whether it's caretaking for our two dogs, house sitting, or being one call away, we are forever grateful. Unfortunately though, all of these treatments, flights to and from Florida, all on top of two kids with costly school tuition and daily expenses, are making the bills look a little more difficult to pay as time goes on. Especially looking into the future, the flexibility we need to have to help make life easier for our Mom is not so flexible in the financial standpoint of things. From house renovations to help accommodate to her limited freedom in mobility, to paying for her treatment completely out of pocket, the uncertainty for at least the next year to come is intimidating.

In summary, life has been difficult to navigate, almost like the light in our path has been dimmed. We love our Mom; she is what makes our family whole, the woman who is always there when we need her, who will drop anything for her family. We are so grateful to be blessed with the perfect wife and mother, but now it is time for us to do for her what she has done for us since the beginning of our family. We want to make life as normal as possible, as soon as time will allow, which is why we are reaching out for help. It is difficult to ask for, but we have made the decision to ask for your financial support. Any contribution, no matter how big or small it is, would make a significant difference, bigger than you will ever know and understand.

We love you, Mom. We are here for you; we are your support system through this. Know you are far from alone; find the light in the situation. Just keep laughing ❤️

Thank you,

The Andersons
