Support the Amick family: honor Helen Amick Meek

Donation protected
Have you ever met someone who is such an incredible person, an angel, someone who just radiates genuine care and love; one of those people that truly make the world a kinder place. That was Helen Amick, and a dear friend who I’m so heartbroken to share has passed today, July 3rd. As everyone who knows Helen would agree she was an incredile mother, friend, sister, and grandma; who valued caring for others, even if it’s a random stranger at the grocery store. Helen lost her battle today battling the unimaginable. Within a month, her life and her families turned upside down with the recent diagnosis of stage 4 colon cancer. A month ago, she was in pain and extremely sick and went to the ER where they found a tumor on her liver… through many agonizing weeks of being very sick and in pain and the waiting game of referrals and more imaging and a biopsy, the offical diagnosis was stage 4 colon cancer, that spread to her liver. Beyond devastated, she did her best to keep her spirits up and fight for her family to over come this, with the amazing support of her kids, son in law, and family doing everything they could. I first started this go fund me and never did publish last week and all were hopeful she had more time… and her family was pursing EVERY option… so it came to a total shock how fast Helen’s time was since her diagnosis and her passing today. She was surrounded by her kids and son in law, and had so much love until she passed away peacefully.

I know without a doubt, her family and Helen would never ever ask for any help and refuse it, as they are just like Helen who was truly a giver.  Helen had always cared for everyone else; but my heart hopes we can help support her and her family durning this unimaginable and devastating time with some financial stress relief.

Also, I know many want to help in some way, so this is just a option for those like myself who want to do something with love that can/want to help. In this difficult time, your contributions will alleviate the financial strain, go toward fulfilling Helen’s wishes and allow her family to focus on healing without the added stress of the financial burden forthcoming. No donation is too small, as each contribution will make a meaningful impact. Thank you for your support and compassion during this time. Together, we hope to bring some stability and comfort to Helen’ kids as they all have faced this unforeseen chapter in their lives and lost their mom.

Helen’s kids, were her world and these donations will go directly to them in helping cover costs and whatever is needed. Helen’s kids are Lacie (spouse Chris, granddaughters Claire and Dylan), Brandon, Mike and Rusty (significant other Annie). If you want to contribute but not through here, please reach out. Happy to ensure it gets to Helen. All the best and with most love, - Jenni Wood
